Michael Jackson spent much of his life trying to make people feel empowered to make a difference. No fight was too big or small.
Touring orphanages, African villages and singing the praises of world peace, he inspired people to want to make a difference.

One of the fights very dear to him was the fight against AIDS. His dear friend Elizabeth Taylor also spent much of her life fighting for this cause.
Michael had become close friends with a young boy named Ryan White. He and Elton John contributed to his care and Ryan visited Michael on many occasions. He lost his life before the age of 20. He had become a symbol against the fight and the misinformation and prejudice that was associated with the disease in its early years.
Michael was so deeply touched by the loss of his young friend that he wrote Gone Too Soon and made a video which featured Ryan. During Bill Clinton’s Inaugural Gala in January 1993, MJ played this song and spoke loving of the loss of his young friend.
Here is that speech and performance. Let us never forget and help in any way we can especially as we mark World AIDS Day. Please also join our other site at Chit Chat Magazine (www.chitchatmagazine.com) where we feature articles on charities trying to make a difference in this plight.
Michael Jackson performed this song at the ball for former President Bill Clinton’s first inauguration on 20 January 1993, where he highlighted the importance of supporting research for a cure for AIDS.
