Michael Jackson Pepsi Commercials

Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 made several commercials for Pepsi. He also, however, made other commercials including lending music to some he did not appear in. The most famous is the early commercial where his hair was set on fire. This horrific footage was only released after his death even though it is said that MJ himself wanted it made public. It is unfortunate as it would have provided the public with an understanding.

The commercials he made spanned many decades.  They included the famous Jackson 5 commercial, Dreams, I’ll be There and more. We have also included some behind the scenes footage for the Dreams commercial.  They spanned many tours including Bad, Dangerous, and the Jackson 5 tour.

This commercial was a later commercial.

Thriller Commercial – this was a superbowl ad but MJ doesn’t appear in it.

We have left the most controversial and earlier commercial with Pepsi until last. We show you the finished product as well as the scenes released after MJ’s death of his hair catching fire on the 6th take of shooting. We also include a CNN conversation as to the effect this event had on MJ’s drug issues later in life. We warn you, it is strong stuff to watch but MJ wanted this footage released at the time of the accident. It might have provided an understanding into his later issues. The settlement he received from Pepsi was donated in full to a burn unit at the hospital that treated him.
