Dr. Arnold Klein, Michael Jackson‘s dermatologist, was ordered to hand over medical records to Dr. Murray’s defense team.
It is now clear that Dr. Murray’s defense team is trying to build a scenario whereby it looks like MJ became addicted to Demerol and another powerful narcotic resulting in his own death. It has been reported that Dr. Klein gave MJ 51 injections of Demerol before his death as supported by invoices submitted to MJ estate following his death.
The docs claim, “Due to Mr. Klein’s actions, Mr. Jackson became physiologically and psychologically dependent on Demerol.”
Murray’s team wants Klein to produce all his medical records, claiming “Dr. Klein is a relevant and highly material witness to the defense.”
Although the defense also wanted financial records of MJ to show dire financial information about money the singer owed when he died thus again building a case that MJ might have killed himself, the judge refused.
Defense attorney Ed Chernoff argued Wednesday he needed the financial and medical information to make the case that Jackson, who was “a desperate man in many respects,” gave himself the fatal dose of surgical anesthesia while the doctor was not watching.
“He was actually in more debt as a result of the concerts than he would have obtained from doing the concerts,” Chernoff said.
The defense believes music catalogs owned by Jackson were “essentially worthless” because of several loans in which they were used as collateral, Chernoff said.
“Jackson did a desperate act and took desperate measures that caused his own death,” Chernoff said. “Therefore, his emotional, physical and financial condition are relevant to show his state of mind when he did this act.”
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor ruled that the defense subpoena for Jackson’s financial records, which his estate controls, was overly broad.
“I’m not going to turn a trial involving involuntary manslaughter into an escapade and into a detailed analysis of the finances of Michael Jackson’s entire life,” Pastor said.
The judge, did allow the defense to subpoena Jackson estate executor John Branca to testify in the trial.
Jury selection, which began last month, will continue into early May. Opening statements and testimony are scheduled to begin May 9.
It seems clear that the defense is going to use drug addiction and financial ruin as their defense for the doctor who admitted to administering a drug used in operating settings and then leaving the room.
We still believe regardless this doctor should be found criminally negligent in the care of a patient.

It blows me away that Dr Murray can turn this whole thing around a make Michael responsible for his own death. What about Murray’s resposibility to michael obviuosly that’s not important. Just sounds like a whole lot of BS to me.Dr Murray just seems to make all kinds of excuses for his incompetance.

He would prefer to think the world is ignorant enough to actually believe his lies about Michael self dosing himself. The drug is used for surgery people!! How many people do you know that can catheter their self, lie down, medicate their self to the point of deep rem sleep? Why do people need an anesthesiologist for? All we need to do is drink the crap, so the worm says. I thought the worm had fell asleep and was not watching the IV drip, should have slowed down the drip after MJ was sleeping deeply. The worm says he was on the phone with his friggen girlfriend, no doubt trying to get laid, while our Michael lay just friggen feet, maybe even inches away trying to draw, which was, his last breath. MJ did not hide the fact that he had sleeping problems, this goes way back when Elizabeth Taylor was even trying to help him with this problem, this was no secret. Michael knew this so-called doctor was being paid to make sure he got his rest and stayed healthy enough to complete the THIS IS IT tour. The worm was looking out for his own ass, MJ was not even eating to help absorb this drug. It was very important to Michael that he be a good influence and an example to his children. Michael never planned on leaving his children fatherless. The worm needs to man up.
