Michael Jackson’s Discovery Channel upcoming TV special set to run in the UK and billed in the advertising as a reenactment of MJ’s autopsy which outraged fans, family and his estate has been pulled from the TV schedule.

John Branca and John McClain sent a letter to Discovery stating it was in “shockingly bad taste … motivated solely by your blind desire to exploit Michael’s death, while cynically attempting to dupe the public into believing this show will have serious medical value.” The Estate noted that Discovery mentioned the Estate and the pending trial but they stated it was the fans who had gotten it removed.

The Co-Executors were particularly outraged by a print ad, depicting a corpse sprawled on a gurney, covered by a sheet with a sequined glove sticking out.

The Discovery show was to have been a succession of programs that re-enact a mock autopsy of Michael Jackson, using a synthetic cadaver and a doctor who will perfom the mock autopsy. Scheduled to hit UK screens and most of Europe, from January 13th through to the 16th. Advertised as a dramatic re-enactment of Michael’s autopsy, recently released promo grabs of the imagery Discovery plans to use shocked many.

Fans banded together and got it removed.
