Alberto Alvarez testifies Murray moved evidence – Day 3

Alberto Alvarez, Michael Jackson’s bodyguard, told the court on Day 3 that Dr. Conrad Murray asked him to hide vials of medicine before calling 911 the day MJ died.
Alvarez testified on Day 3 of the Michael Jackson manslaughter trial that Dr. Conrad Murray asked him to remove vials from Jackson’s nightstand prior to calling 911.
Testimony described the saline bag holding the bottom of Propofol. The IV bag and bottom were shown to the jury and the court. A lot of discussion occurred as to the positioning of the bag and bottle. Alvaraz showed the bottom was on a slant in the bag. This discussion was to show how the IV bag hung.

Alvarez voice was the one heard on the now famous 911 call.
Alvarez said on the evening of June 24 (night before his death), MJ was in a good mood. Following rehearsal, he went back to MJ’s house to prepare for MJ’s arrival. He confirmed that Dr. Murray’s car was in the driveway.
The next day, while in the security trailer, Alvarez got a call from MJ’s assistant asking him to rush into the house without creating a “commotion.”
When he got to the second floor, he saw Conrad Murray heading to MJ’s bedroom. Murray told him to “come, come quick.” That’s when he said, he understood the seriousness of the situation and hung up the phone with MJ’s assistant, Michael Amir Williams.
Entering the room, he saw was Murray giving MJ chest compressions while MJ was laying on bed. MJ was on the far side of the bed, laying on his back, hands extended to the sides, palms up… his mouth and eyes open and face slightly toward the left.
The doctor was using one hand — his left — to do the compressions. Murray then said, “We have to get him to the hospital.”
It was at that time that he noticed Paris right behind him crying and screaming “Daddy!” MJ’s face was facing Paris at the time.
Murray yelled, “Don’t let them see their dad that way” … so Alvarez moved the kids away.
When Alvarez returned to the room he asked the doctor what had happened. It was at that time that he was told MJ had a bad reaction.
Alvarez noticed a condom catheter attached to MJ’s penis. This type of device is used to collect urine.
Alvarez said Murray grabbed a “handful” of vials, handing them over to Alvarez saying “put these in a bag.” Alvarez held a plastic bag open and Murray placed the vials in the plastic bag, then told him to put the plastic bag in a brown bag. Murray then asked Alvarez to put the brown bag in a blue bag… which Alvarez did.
Murray asked him to take the saline bag from the IV stand and put it in the blue bag as well.
Alvarez said he didn’t question Murray’s request. He thought they were packing all the items for the hospital.
Although two saline bags were on the IV stand, Murray only asked for the one that had a vial in it as well as a “milky white substance” at the bottom of the bag.
This testimony was a bombshell for the defense. It seems to indicate deliberate attempt to conceal evidence, to not be concerned to call 911 before hiding evidence. It also seems improbably that MJ, based on the defense’s claim that MJ self injected, that he was able to get up, remove the condom catheter, went and took pills, self inject, put the condom catheter back and then lay on the bed and die. It seems ridiculous.
This testimony also shows that the Propofol was a drip not an injection without full detail monitoring. This goes against opening defense statements when they claimed the Propofol was ‘injected’. This is huge.
Defense attorney Ed Chernoff on cross examination tried to get Alvarez to admit he may have been confused about the timing of the events. Alvarez said Murray ordered him to bag the vials before paramedics arrived.
